This garden is a typical Daimyo (feudal lord) garden in the Edo period with a tidal pond (Shioiri-no-Ike) and two wild-duck hunting sites (Kamoba).
Other highlights include a 300-year-old pine tree during the rule of the 6th Shogun Tokugawa Ienobu and a teahouse on a pond islet.
There is a garden of peonies blooming in many different colors in the spring, and many other flowers attract visitors throughout the year.
