Accessible Facilities/Safety Measures

Facilities Guidance

Each station is an elevated structure with the platform on the upper level and the concourse and ticket gate on the lower level. The concourse levels are directly connected to the surrounding major buildings via pedestrian walkways (connecting passageways). In addition, various facilities have been devised with the needs of passengers with disabilities, seniors, etc. in mind, including ascending and descending escalators and elevators, Braille blocks, gender inclusive restrooms (multi-function restrooms), etc.
With the exception of Shimbashi, Ariake, and Toyosu, the stations are mostly unmanned.

  • Elevators

You can take elevators between the street and ticket gate levels and between the ticket gate level and the platforms.

  • Ticket Machines

Each ticket machine and fare adjustment machine is equipped with a monitor and intercom. Guidance is also available through text and image as well as audio.

  • Braille Panels・Audio Guide

There are audio guides on the ticket gate and platform levels. Station and restroom maps, and fare adjustment offices are equipped with Braille panels and audio guides.

  • Station Numbering / Displays in 4 Languages

For ease of understanding, especially by foreign visitors, route and station names are displayed in Roman alphabet and numerals. All important information is displayed in 4 languages.

  • Gender-inclusive Restrooms

Stations are equipped with male, female, and gender-inclusive restrooms. "Gender-inclusive restrooms" can be used by seniors, passengers in wheelchairs, persons living with an ostomy, and the general public.
