◆About “Railway Day”
October 14, 1872 marked the opening of Japan’s first railway between Shimbashi and Yokohama. To commemorate this, October 14 was designated “Railway Day” each year.With the aim of deepening understanding and interest in railways, JR, private railways, and other railway-related parties celebrate the development of railways by holding a variety of events.
