Measures for Safety and Comfort
Yurikamome Line Features
-
Safety
Our trains run on designated, elevated tracks which eliminates concerns about traffic congestion and collisions.
-
Mobility
Our trains can run on routes with many curves due to the use of rubber tires and small cars.
-
Reduced Pollution
Our trains do not emit exhaust gases as they are powered by electricity, and the use of rubber tires virtually eliminates any disturbances due to noise and vibration.
-
Automation
Train operation is automated and stations are unmanned due to the use of advanced computers. This saves labor and allows us to flexibly and appropriately respond to demand.
-
Economical
Track construction costs can be reduced due to the small size and weight of the cars.
Cars
Running a distance of 15km, the Yurikamome Line is a new transportation system that passes through the Rainbow Bridge and Odaiba, connecting Shimbashi and Toyosu via 16 stations. You can enjoy fantastic views from within the train as it runs on an elevated track high above the ground.
The Yurikamome Line first opened in November 1995, running between Shimbashi and Ariake, then extending past Ariake to Toyosu in March 2006.
Station Facilities and Design
Various facilities on the Yurikamome Line have been devised with the needs of passengers with disabilities, seniors, etc. in mind, including ascending and descending escalators and elevators, Braille blocks and direction signs, gender-inclusive restrooms (multi-function restrooms), etc.
Free Wi-Fi Hotspots
All stations on the Yurikamome Line are equipped with free Wi-Fi hotspots for anyone to use. Please check the How to Access page for details.
